The Distributed School Project
'fields apart, streets ahead'

The vision of the distributed school places the rural community at its heart. Not only is it anticipated that the nodes will be areas where members of the community will have continual access, and be welcomed, but the technological resources of the school will be available to the village in the evenings and at weekends.

In return the vision anticipates that the pupils will use the village resources, both buildings and people expertise. Pupils will spend time in the local community drawing on local expertise. This local expertise can be shared between nodes and clusters. This is a two way process which sees the node as an integral part of the village community.
